The Watchmen – Soon To Be Released On DVD

Never really planned on going to see this film. It was just one of those things where a friend wanted me to come along and I had never even heard of the film Watchmen before, but I figured what the heck. Now, I am anxiously awaiting the DVD to come out later this month, as a matter of fact I already pre-ordered it.

Now this movie is based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons and is set against the backdrop of the Cold War this movie is about an alternative 1985 and the darkness and fear that plague the universe during that time. Now this film, like any good vs. evil action flick, takes on a world of its own with meaning that is deep and a well developed plot.

This is more then just comic book characters on the big screen, it is comic characters mixed with amazing visual effects and action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the film was that it was geared towards adult audiences, unlike most movies that are adapted from comic books.

Now the final features of the DVD information have not been released, however it is said to have a lot of extras and bonuses which will total up to two hours of extras. Not to mention the fact that there is rumor of an ultimate edition to follow which may even show different versions of this movie, which would just be incredible if they were to do that.

The Watchmen DVD is scheduled to release on July 27,2009, although it can be pre-purchased at many reputable online retailers, like www.cdwow.com. It may be a good idea to pre-order your copy today instead of driving to the store when it is released only to find out that they no longer have it in stock. This is an outstanding action film that you are sure to watch over and over again!
